History:
7th cent.:   St Angus comes to the Balquhidder glen and builds an oratory at Kirkton
About 1250:   The first known church in the glen, the Eaglais Beag or “little church”, built on the site of St Angus’s grave
1631:   Construction of the predecessor church (“Old Church”)
1853:   Construction of the current church started (architect David Bryce, possibly supported by the architectural firm Hay of Liverpool), situated slightly north of the then dilapidated old church
1855:   Completion of the current church
06/09/2005:   Commemoration of the 150th anniversary
